Jiajie(Jason) Ma 马嘉杰

I am a fifth-year PhD student in mathematics at Duke University. My advisor is Lenny Ng . Before that, I graduated with a B.S. in mathematics and computer science from Haverford College. Here is my CV.

I will be participating in the IPAM long program on Quantum Topology, Character Varieties, and Low-Dimensional Geometry this fall.

I'm on the job market this fall (2026)!

Research

My research interests are geometry and topology. My current work focuses on developing holomorphic curve invariants of Legendrian and Lagrangian submanifolds and studying their algebraic structures. A central applicaton is the classification of exact Lagrangian fillings of Legendrian links, where these invariants reveal profound connections to cluster theory.
